Portage Country Club seeks a fast and friendly bus person to deliver an exemplary dining experience to our private members. We offer year-round Food and Beverage services in multiple dining settings and are host to banquets and private events, golf tournaments, swim team events, and tennis programming.
Essential Job Duties:
As a bus person at Portage Country Club, you will:
- Focus on details to provide the highest quality of service to all members and guests of members.
- Strive for continuous improvement in knowledge, quality, consistency, service, products, work environment, safety, wellness, and member satisfaction.
- Maintain company culture by interacting with team members and senior staff with respect.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area, including dining rooms, other service areas, break room, and outside restrooms.
- Clear soiled dishes from tables and return to the kitchen to be washed, set tables with silverware, glassware, and clean linen.
- Fill water glasses, prepare butter dishes, and pour non-alcoholic beverages.
- Clean spills and pick up debris from floors as needed and sweep dining room and kitchen floors before the end of each shift.
- Assist in the set up and breakdown of buffet tables and moving tables, chairs, and equipment.
- Clean, polish, and store chaffing dishes after each use.
- If you see something, say something! Report all problems and maintenance issues to supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and continuously move for the duration of a regular shift.
- Must be able to maneuver, bend, twist, pivot, and navigate stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. or more.
Educational and/or Experience Requirements:
- Some experience working in a food service setting.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Ability to self-govern, prioritize work, and work rapidly and efficiently.
- Ability to retain information and execute accordingly.
- Professional in manner, dress, and grooming.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to adhere to quality standards for safety, sanitation, and food handling.
