Position Summary
The Director of Assessment and Accreditation in the College of Education (COE) at Portland State University provides leadership and oversight of assessment activities for the purposes of program development and evaluation, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness. The individual supervises the License Administrator and the Data Coordinator. This is a full-time year round position. The position reports directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters degree required in Education, Assessment, Psychology, Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership or a related field with 3 years of experience in higher education and/or professional educational organization.

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of assessment of student learning, program evaluation, quantitative and qualitative research methods.

  • Experience in and knowledge of state and national accreditation processes (e.g.) CAEP, AAQEP, or CACREP accreditation).

  • Strong written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership with strong collaborative interpersonal skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Technological skills relevant to academic administration and assessment.

  • Ability to provide effective leadership and training, and to work professionally with diverse groups.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree preferred in Education, Assessment, Counselor Education, Psychology, Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership or a related field with 5 years of experience in higher education and/or professional educational organizations.
  • Experience with database-driven, web-based applications, and statistical software.

Work Days/Hours
Monday - Friday, standard 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with flexible schedule available upon request/approval from supervisor

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting annual salary for this position will be between $78,481 and $88,000. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range; however, it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
