What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Office Clerk position at Portside Marine?
Receiving/Office Clerk
- To efficiently execute all store deliveries to support product availability to the selling floor
- Place orders to vendors to ensure inventory is replenished
- Process paperwork matching packing slips to invoice (i.e. monitor inventory of stockroom supplies and advise management of supply needs)
- Process damaged merchandise, returns to vendor
- Maintain organization and housekeeping duties in the receiving area
- Perform all tasks safely to prevent customer and employee accidents
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor as requested.
- Prepare orders to ship to customers
- Inspect and document all in and outbound deliveries,
- Use computerized systems for shipping and receiving
- Organize inbound and outbound inventory; prepare for selling floor placement & rotating newest merchandise to the back
- Work with all department on shipping and receiving related issues
- Perform physical inventory
- Maintain and clean all shipping and receiving equipment
- Provide input to improve current department procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Prior receiving/processing experience required.
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Able to plan, prioritize and multi-task efficiently.
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including simple bookkeeping and banking tasks
- Must be responsive to a continually changing retail environment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday and some Saturdays
