We are seeking an equally passionate Litigation Paralegal to help further our mission through providing support to the daily affairs of our legal department. This position will require an individual to think on their feet, be detail oriented and organized, maintain frequent and detailed communications with the legal team, and have an overarching desire for success. The Litigation Paralegal will report directly to the Director of Legal Ops.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $68,000
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare, organize and file documents and correspondence relating to pending or threatened litigation matters, employee records requests or third-party subpoenas.
- Draft, revise, and edit responses, letters and other written documents, and collect and analyze information relating to pending or threatened litigation matters.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and partners within the legal department as well as other business departments to gather factual information in furtherance of responding to complaints or records requests.
- Conduct thorough research and aid in the compliance of state and local laws and requirements, including in the areas of safety and employment.
- Update and maintain internal databases and trackers; categorize and interpret data; review and analyze reports, responses and records and coordinate with outside counsel.
- Conduct witness interviews to gather factual data, and compile other materials for case preparation.
- Organize relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation.
- Assist in preparing the company for small claims hearings, settlement conferences and Labor Commissioner hearings.
- Draft position statements for Labor Commissioner and EECO complaints at the direction of in-house counsel.
- Assist on a variety of litigation matters including but not limited to PAGA, TCPA, FCRA, EEOC, Labor Commissioner, employment, subrogation, and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and providing timely reminders.
- Project management, task tracking, calendaring, and follow up.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree/Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Paralegal role.
- Previous legal experience preferred in the areas of employment and litigation.
- Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screenings, including criminal and drug screens.
