Due to continued growth, we are seeking seasoned Protection and Control Technicians or Field Engineers who are in or ready for a management position. If you have 7 years of relay testing experience in major utility substations, we want to hear from you!  

JOB OVERVIEW:  

Responsible for the design of electrical protection and control systems for generation, transmission and distribution systems with emphasis on quality and project costs following client’s requirements and internal company’s quality control and quality assurance practices.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Development of complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including AC one-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications and bill of materials.   
• Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers.  
• Performs assignments independently with instruction as to the general results expected and with guidance from Director of Engineering and/or Lead Engineer on unusual or complex projects.  
• Developing, nurturing and maintaining trusted relationships with senior level engineering, managers, and executives with current or prospective clients.    
• Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers, respond in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable articulate manner.   
• Direct and/or participate in client meetings / job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.  
• Assists with proposals to provide professional services or coordinate funding for engineering projects. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:   

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (not engineering technology program). An international engineering degree will be considered. A Master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. engineering degree. 
• Five (5) or more years of electrical engineering experience is required, experience in protection and control engineering is required.  
• Professional Engineer registration or plan to become registered is required. Professional Engineering registration in the working state a plus.

• While performing duties of this job, would occasionally require to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects and tools. 
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
