As the Plant Manager, in Richmond, VA , you will lead the Traffic Markings manufacturing process in a way that safety, quality and efficiency goals are achieved to exceed customer expectations. Manage systems which support company ideals of safety, quality, and efficient production.
You will report to the Regional Manufacturing Manager and will be seated at our Richmond, VA location. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities
• True first level manager. Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and following approved budgets. Have full authority for personnel actions
• Instill a universal commitment to Safety; Coordinate maintenance, operations, and logistics to assure output to meet quality and productivity standards
• Develop plans that help operations run, increase production, and assets capacity while minimizing unnecessary costs
• Monitor outcome of operations and trigger corrective actions
• Create and handle budgets; Understand and implement company policies
• Lead selection process to hire and train team members
• Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste; Analyze data and create reports regarding performance metrics
• Evaluate employees, provide feedback, mentor and suggestions for improvement, and coordinate work schedules to ensure coverage
Qualifications
• 8 years manufacturing management experience required; B.S. Degree or equivalent experience, Mechanical or Chemical engineering
• Shown success in a leadership and team building role, with the ability to develop direct reports
• Experience in coatings or the chemical industry
• Manufacturing Process Engineer or Process Improvement experience, as well as Six Sigma and continuous improvement “lean manufacturing”
