This position is part of PPG’s S&T Color IT Center of Excellence and is located at our corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Position Description
This position is oriented to a Microsoft .NET developer with strong technical knowledge, good interpersonal skills, and looking for professional growth. In this role, you will participate in developing and supporting commercial software platforms ranging from unique color selection systems to comprehensive business management solutions. The successful candidate will act in an application development role within the Global Color IT team. You will work closely with the Front Line IT functions to provide technology consulting, analysis, development, and support for various applications used by PPG customers worldwide. This hard-working team interacts with global customers every day and ensures we meet and exceed their expectations.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and able to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive suite of software applications. This position requires the demonstrated ability to develop and support robust software applications based upon desktop, web, and mobile platforms. You will be responsible for managing migrations, builds, and releases for our portfolio of related applications. In addition, there are opportunities to address unique challenges related to hardware integration and advanced analytical concepts. You are expected to bring a strong technical ability that will enable you to find opportunities for effective use of technology to design, develop and implement complex software solutions. You must possess strong analytical abilities and good interpersonal /communication skills. You should thrive on working in both a team environment and independently. A process-focused mindset and ability to lead process change and process creation to efficiently lead a portfolio of applications through the continuous improvement lifecycle will be critical to success in this role. While not required to manage others, it is expected that you can coach and mentor junior members of the team, including code reviews. You will participate in prioritizing resources and tasks on specific projects and should be able to monitor and report on the status of the project tasks.
