What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Business Analyst Financials position at PPG Industries?
As a Business Analyst Specialist (Financials) you will be a member of the PPG Aerospace Front Line IT team focusing on the support of the Aerospace Finance function. You will report to the Aerospace IT manager. You will support the Finance team by leading IT work stream projects within the Financials modules of our ERP. This includes project leadership, business requirements gathering, best practice alignment, and general support of the function. Position can be located in either Pittsburgh PA, or Sylmer CA, and will be a hybrid workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead finance work stream activities for projects and support work
- Guide the finance team on best practices of business processes and effective usage of tools and technologies
- Translate requirements and communicate the impact to the finance team
- Create and update functional/business specifications and work with IT technical resources to complete the system changes and enhancements
- Complete functional testing for system changes and enhancements
- Learn the standard QAD modules for Finance, Inventory, Purchasing and Manufacturing in order to support design decisions and lead project/support activities
- Lead or assist in power user and end user training
- Participate in requirements gathering, configuration and process design sessions
- Manage supporting business process documentation, such as SOPs, work instructions, or process diagrams
- Develop knowledge of best practices, commonly used concepts/methods and procedures for conducting business analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent experience with 3 years’ experience in Business Analysis or Consulting function.
- Possess 2 years of experience working with the Finance function and within ERP Financial modules (QAD experience preferred)
- Experience working with ERPs in a large multi-site environment (QAD experience is a plus)
- Lead medium sized projects, gather requirements, build timelines, and communicate project status to all stakeholders
- Must be willing to participate in a hybrid workplace with a minimum 2 days in the office (Pittsburgh or Los Angeles)
- Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
