What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at PPG Industries, Inc?
As the Production Supervisor, you will oversee daily production activities to ensure volume, cost, and quality standards are consistently met. In this role, you will manage work schedules, staffing, and production sequences to maximize efficiency and productivity. Additionally, you will play a key role in identifying production issues and providing reports that support continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations in the production area to meet volume, cost, and quality objectives.
- Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences for optimal productivity.
- Identify issues in the production process and provide timely reports to support process improvements.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of processes and procedures in the production area.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the production function and oversee a team of para-professional staff in a highly transactional or repetitive work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in production or a related area as an individual contributor.
- Proven ability to supervise a team and contribute to process development.
- Strong understanding of production processes, with an emphasis on achieving productivity and quality targets.
