About this position: Under the general supervision and direction of the Security Manager, this role is responsible for assisting with providing security for staff, volunteers, patients, and visitors; assists with administering the badging and alarm systems across the affiliate. The Security Technician II is a member of the Security and Facilities Team of PPGNHAIK. This is a Full-time union role, based in Seattle, Washington, 1.0 FTE. What you’ll be doing: Ensures that staff & visitors have proper identification badges or visitor stickers. Monitors all PPGNHAIK facilities for security or parking concerns and reports to the Manager as appropriate. Provides back-up to the front desk receptionist. Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of all building security and fire alarm systems. Provides coordination as needed with both police and fire department personnel. Develops ongoing professional relationships with health center employees by visiting multiple local health centers weekly. Trains incoming volunteers for the Patient Escort Program. Also monitors existing escorts weekly activities while volunteering at the health centers. Facilitates the safety committee monthly meetings at the Seattle Administration Building. Checks and monitors the HVAC computer software, in the event a help ticket is needed for an adjustment to the system. On a weekly basis or as needed, logs into the onsite system and runs tests that verify the balancing of the heating and air conditioning systems in the Madison building. Travels to local health centers, or other PPGNHAIK facilities as directed and assesses the fire alarm equipment rooms, as well as the fire extinguishers, and completes a checklist to insure the timely updating, repair or replacement of such equipment. Shall perform other fire equipment tests as needed. Coordinates and leads orientations of the Seattle Administration Building for all new PPGNHAIK Employees. Supervisory Responsibilities: none Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a security guard or officer in an office environment. Intermediate level knowledge in Microsoft Word and Outlook required License: Must have access to a vehicle. Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance required. Compensation: PPGNHAIK's compensation philosophy is based in equity and transparency. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's directly applicable experience and internal equity within the pay grade. The pay range is $ 19.97 to $ 27.14, paid hourly.
