Overview
This position is responsible for training and field execution of the company’s Control Room Management Program to ensure the company complies with federal and state pipeline safety regulations. Provide on the job coaching, training, and direction of work methods in the field and control room.

Responsibilities
Ensure all personnel under responsibility perform work in accordance with applicable regulatory and Company safety rules. Conduct and document jobsite inspections of field employees (safety audits, vehicle inspections, work quality audits). Development, delivery, and tracking of specialized technical and compliance training in accordance with 49 CFR 192.631. Development and enhancement of Gas Controller technical training and operator qualification. Development, delivery, and tracking of technical training for LG&E SR&O and IM&E employees. Development and enhancement of procedures to respond to normal, abnormal, and emergency operating conditions. Development and administration of control room team training and exercises. Train, coach, and mentor field employees on findings of audits and inspections. Gas Control point of contact for lock out tag out, startup and shutdown procedure development. Ensure personnel, equipment, and material resources are optimized, through effective planning, scheduling, and execution of assigned jobs. Effectively direct field employees in the execution of planned, unplanned, and emergency restoration work, including lock out tag out, shutdown and startup procedures. Work with Gas Control management to allocate available personnel as needed to respond to outages, emergencies, or other trouble on the gas distribution system. Evaluate and discuss employee’s job performance and progress, with Gas Control management to assist in employee performance reviews evaluations, recommendations and promotions or disciplinary action. Reinforce safety messages, new procedures, new equipment, and other information. Assist with review boards and hands on training sessions. Assist in conducting near miss investigations and participate in the decision-making process. Validate compliance by maintaining appropriate records. Effectively manage work priorities and risk. All other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL_EXPERIENCE-2-year associate degree in engineering technology, Industrial Maintenance, or minimum 2 years equivalent work experience directly associated with natural gas operations or regulatory complianceon a year for year basis is required.. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skill proficiency is required. Valid driver’s license.;SPECIAL_QUALIFICATIONS-Experience in the development of technical and compliance training material. Demonstrated ability to perform complex analyses and provide recommendations to improve processes. Ability to read and comprehend technical journals and regulations. Demonstrated proficiency in Company’s Mobile and Mapping applications and associated technologies. Demonstrated technical expertise in assigned area;WORK_CONDITIONS-Primarily normal office environment with limited field work to sites that may be hot, cold, dirty, noisy, or have inclement weather. Typical work hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm but may vary depending on the needs of those in the field. Must be able to provide support for on-call and operational emergency situations outside of regular work schedule.;PHYSICAL_EFFORTS-Moderate physical effort required.
