Overview
Provides assistance to attorneys representing PPL Corporation and its subsidiaries on various transactions, including contracts and mergers and acquisitions, advertising review and other intellectual property matters, and federal and state grants. This assistance could also include support before courts and regulatory agencies. General duties include, but are not limited to, contract review (including technology, construction, engineering and miscellaneous agreements), due diligence review and summary, maintaining Company contract templates and other documents, legal research, fact investigation, preparation of draft legal documents, correspondences, memorandum, agenda, and slides, and assisting attorneys in mitigating legal risk exposure to PPL Corporation and its subsidiaries by ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. This position focuses primarily on supporting one or two practice areas, but should have the ability to work across a broad range of areas.
Responsibilities
This position may be hired a the Paralegal, Staff Paralegal or Senior Paralegal level. Additional responsibilities may be required for higher levels of the position.
- Assist in effective case management of complex litigation.
- Review with comments of contracts and other legal documents, including Company template agreements.
- Assists in preparing agenda, minutes, summaries, and slides for meetings.
- Perform legal research and prepare memoranda of findings.
- Review and summarize extensive legal documents.
- Work collaboratively with various PPL employees, state and federal agencies, and outside counsel.
- Provide assistance in administrative and financial functions.
- Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
Qualifications
Paralegal
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved program or another paralegal program acceptable to the company
- Up to 3 years of legal experience in a paralegal or related position
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in legal research and writing, and problem analysis
- Familiarity with Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Strong case management skills
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products and applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Forms
- Proven ability to exercise good judgment and excellent organizational skills
- Capability to multitask, inquire, analyze and problem-solve issuesExperience with AdobeSign
Staff Paralegal
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved program or another paralegal program acceptable to the company
- A minimum of 2 years of legal experience in a paralegal or related position
- Demonstrated computer proficiency
- Experience in problem analysis and problem solving
- Experience in reviewing and summarizing legal documents and procedures with little or no direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications and databases, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Forms
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Experience with Westlaw or LexisNexis

Senior Paralegal
