JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prasada In Home is in immediate need of Youth Respite Workers to provide respite services in North Jersey Counties who will care for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the child's home or in his primary community. This allows caregivers to engage in other activities and provides them with a break. This job is a great opportunity for those pursuing careers in social work, counseling, special education or behavior analysis. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide supervision and activity for youth in their home 4-5 hours a week.
• Must be willing to carry a caseload of 2-3 families.
• May assist with daily living tasks, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Complete respite plans with family to determine needs and goals of respite services.
• Complete detailed time sheets.
• Complete progress notes for each visit.
• Available between 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM and/or weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• At least one year experience working with children or adults with special needs or autism
• Need reliable transportation
• Experience caring for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Excellent Verbal and Communication Skills
• Bi-lingual a plus.

LOCATION: This is an home based position, however you will be working with the family in their home. Prasada In Home serves the Northern New Jersey area.
