What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Manager position at Pratt Industries?
Reports to: Sales Manager
Summary: Overall responsibility for customer service, order entry, order processing and order shipping.
Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise sales service, review and ensure that all plant goals regarding on time deliveries and other product quality and performance issues are being met. Monitoring the inventory and warehouse items, keeping Sales Manager informed of problems and situations that may affect the performance of sales service, scheduling and shipping. Review and revise service related procedures and train personnel to ensure quality service and output. Complies with company polices and procedures and any additional duties as assigned by Management.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED, five (5) years experience in a manufacturing environment, three (3) years supervisory experience overseeing three (3) or more people. Candidates are preferred who offer the following: Experience in the corrugated industry and are computer literate (MS Excel and MS Word).
Language Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to read and interpret documents such as business and performance reports, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Having the ability to write business reports and correspondence. Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of people, the general public, managers and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume.
Reasoning Ability: Have the ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information or standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.
Leadership Attributes: The individual must posses the following: Superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting. Have the superior communication and teaching skills in order to function effectively as a teacher for his/her personnel. Must possess the excellent skills in crisis situations and demonstrate that he/she have a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution. Have excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, apply both positive and corrective feedback, be able to resolve conflicts either involving the supervisor directly or as a third party, understand and demonstrate positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques. Demonstrate confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness. Professional appearance to support his/her role as a managerial representative.
Performance Measurements: Performance will be measured by operating standards, personal growth, employee relations and creativity.
