Pratt & Whitney provides the F135 engine to the dynamic and expanding F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. To sustain the engine, Pratt & Whitney is partnered with depots in the United States and worldwide for maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MRO&U) services and continues to expand the MRO&U network.
The Contracts Manager position in the Pratt & Whitney Military Engines Contracts Management Organization (MECMO), reports to the Associate Director, Strategic Military Subcontracts. As a Contracts Manager for the Strategic Military Subcontracts (SMS) team, you will be responsible for the comprehensive life cycle management of the subcontracts between Pratt & Whitney Military Engines and its major subcontractors, from participation in the generation of the Requests for Proposal and drafting of the subcontract, to subcontract close-out. You will be an important liaison to the Pratt & Whitney contracts team that negotiates the prime contract with the U.S. Government Joint Program Office and will be a key participant in the negotiations with the subcontractors. You will interact with Pratt & Whitney stakeholder organizations to ensure subcontract documentation is fully aligned with the prime contract requirements and work closely with the Pratt & Whitney Military Engines Logistics Program Management team as a business partner on contracts matters to execute on the performance of the various subcontracts. Other opportunities within the SMS scope of responsibility may be assigned as required. Additional duties include participation in MECMO process improvement activities and other tasks as assigned.
In order to succeed in this position, you will need to be an independent learner and strong team player. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a prerequisite. You should possess strong document drafting skills, an understanding of aerospace business and legal issues, and familiarity with industry best practice process improvement tools.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years' of relevant experience or 5 years' of experience with a master's degree or MBA
US citizenship
Understanding of aerospace business and legal issues
Familiarity with industry best practice process improvement tools
The ability to travel 10% to 20%
Preferred Qualifications:
Significant experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Government procurement process
Advanced education - Juris Doctor
