We have a rare opportunity for a talented Materials Supervisor to be based in Middletown, CT.
Summary:
The Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) organization has an open position for driving our materials and logistics transformation. Your responsibilities include Supervision of Materials Associates, executing materials transformation initiatives and driving a strategic materials management architecture. It will include daily Supervision duties, the releasing of material, managing handling methods, kitting and material movement following the fundamentals of line back logistics.
Success will be measured by developing strategies and executing goals with the business units/departments and objectives to meet capacity requirements, inventory controls, cost reduction objectives, on time delivery, and control tower measures. The individual will have the opportunity to work directly with CSMC administration, materials, operations and 3PL organizations as well as the internal manufacturing groups to redefine processes, execute on business requirements and deliver to customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
Supervision of Materials Associates
Logistics – transportation and documentation
Module Assembly – warehousing oversight, module and kit management, material releases as necessary and delivery assurance
Shop materials – material release, movement of material within the shop and to 3PL organizations, delivery assurance, customer allocations, pack and ship oversight
Strong SAP knowledge is preferable, combined with significant materials management and supply chain experience is needed to complement analytical capability and good communication skills
This role will work directly with business unit teams, logistics, transportation and senior management as well as Core support organizations to assure success of on time delivery of material for engine / module build and spare part requirements for our customers.
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in a technical discipline (Industrial Engineering or Operations Management preferred) with 7 years of experience required.
U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work with all levels of management
Advanced knowledge of materials management strategies, lean manufacturing system design and shop floor management execution
Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. lean manufacturing, CORE, QCPC)
Strong operational experience
Proven ability to motivate teams to obtain high levels of performance and to accomplish goals Highly motivated individual who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and who enjoys the challenges of process improvement and “lean” manufacturing initiatives
Success working in a high energy and dynamic manufacturing environment with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions
Ability to build positive relationships
Craft clear communication
Aerospace industry experience preferred
