Key Responsibilities

  • Perform materials testing for the Quality & Process Engineering Core Lab group.
  • Most frequently performed testing will include tensile, stress rupture, creep, particle size, and hardness.
  • Candidate will interpret manual sections, material specifications, and engineering drawings to determine required testing and will disposition results.
  • Additional responsibilities will include development of standard work / training materials, TPM of equipment, and occasional support of investigations / proficiency testing.
  • Responsibilities may require handling chemicals.
  • Candidate will support continuous improvement efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy or related Engineering degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Fluent in English (verbal/written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Prior experience with mechanical testing of metallic materials and familiarity with ASTM test methods is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and material specification requirements.
  • Work experience in a materials testing laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with associates in the organization.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
