Position Summary
The Sr. Planning Analyst monitors production schedules and expedites the flow of materials and parts through production area. Responsible for creating and maintaining a schedule for customer orders. Communicates schedules and deadlines to all internal departments and external suppliers as needed. The Production Planner ensures smooth operations throughout the production and distribution life of a given product with an emphasis for On Time Delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order priority
- Monitors production schedules
- Summarizes daily and weekly Master Schedules for released orders and compares these to the operation Plan to ensure that the Schedules are aligned with Sale commitments
- Coordinates with Purchasing/Engineering/Quality/Manufacturing/Sales to better understand lead times for scheduled items, seeks way to reduce internal lead time as well as lead times to the customer
- Updates Customer Service Reps on status
- Computer status updates
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Manager

Minimum Education or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or related major preferred
- Scheduling experience required
