The In Vivo Technologist II, in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), works under limited supervision and is responsible for performing advanced bio methods and/or humanized procedures, such as bioluminescence imaging, drug formulation, aseptic; and shipping animals domestically and internationally under strict regulation. Additional responsibilities include taking on a project lead role capable of understanding study timelines and communicating issues effectively and providing auxiliary support to the CAPX, cell culture, and flow cytometry operations. Technologist II is expected to proactively seek out new opportunities that will enhance team mentoring, check for quality gaps, organize lab spaces for inspections and audits, and attend conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
•Technical Execution – Perform advanced-level bio-methods that could include IT dosing, drug formulation, aseptic tissue collection, Xenogen imaging, cell culture maintenance and delivery, flow cytometry, and other specialized techniques. Perform bio-methods of previous levels.
•Process/project management: Study Core team responsibilities include successfully serving as the lead on studies and showing an advanced understanding of study milestones and timelines. Humanized Production team responsibilities include demonstrating sustained quality in both shipping prep and shipping along with successful performance in IP cell injections.
•Auxiliary Program Support – Provide support for other peripheral programs like CAPX development, monitoring, and shipping.
•Lab Maintenance – Perform basic room sanitation, organize and restock lab spaces, and help the lab monitor equipment's operational status.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
•High School Diploma with 4 years applicable work experience in a laboratory/animal care setting or BS degree in applicable field of study with 2 years of applicable work experience.
•Capable of performing a wide range of animal bio methods, including dosing, blood and tissue collection, and other specialized techniques.
•Lab equipment operation experience, including using centrifuges, Pipettes, water baths, etc.
•Chemical formulation experience preferred.
•Demonstrated professional workmanship, resulting in adherence to the laboratory, department, and company policies, SOPs, and all matters relating to the integrity, quantity, and quality of products and services.
•Excellent communication and listening skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with others both verbally and in writing to clearly and effectively exchange information. Proven excellent writing skills.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in computer software and LIMS systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Provantis, and AX.
•Excellent organizational skills, excellent multi-tasking skills, and demonstrated ability to manage details accurately.
•Demonstrated focus on quality/process improvement and identify/anticipate needs.
•Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Ability to make decisions that adhere to all SOPs, policies, and regulatory procedures.
•Comfortable working in both in vitro and in vivo environments, especially with animal handling, cell culture, and flow cytometry.
•Good Laboratory Practice experience preferred.
