Responsibilities :
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to understand requirements and scope of work
- Collaborate with sales, design, and production teams to gather information and clarify project details
- Analyze material, labor, and equipment costs to develop accurate cost estimates
- Utilize specialized software and tools to prepare detailed project estimates
- Research and source potential suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Conduct cost comparisons and negotiate pricing agreements
- Identify and document potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs
- Prepare clear and comprehensive estimate summaries for internal review and client presentations
- Assist in the development and improvement of estimating processes and tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field
- Proven experience as an estimator in a job shop fabrication environment
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes and materials
