Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers’ near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements.
Responsibilities
Our client is looking for a API Developer to join their team! As a cloud-first API developer, you will make extensive use of AWS API Gateway to ensure backend routing for a production web application is handled properly, delivering services to users as expected. You will also need to be familiar with HTTP request routing and handling as well as be able to interpret and debug connection and access issues.
- Define, assign, and resolve bugs, features, and tasks to enhance or maintain a production codebase using Git source code management within an agile software development team
- Effectively modify backend services, including cloud serverless artifacts and databases, to merge quality software into an operational IC system
- Participate in multiple weekly agile development working sessions to ensure timely releases of bug fixes and new features
- Participate in peer reviews of merge requests from team members
- Perform pre-release testing of bug fixes and new features
Requirements
- Four years of Java, JavaScript and SQL experience or equivalent certifications
- AWS developer associate or higher certification or equivalent experience
- Experience with the Java Hibernate Object Relational Mapper
- Experience with software testing to include unit testing and the use of testing frameworks on both the backend and frontend
Preferred Requirements
- Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC), and the intel cycle
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Experience in backlog management, including Epic, Feature, User Story development, and refinement
- Experience with Confluence and Jira
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 (M365) suite
- Ability to be on-site 60% of the time at a client SCIF located in Washington, D.C.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with team members
Education/Certification Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related fields requiring extensive use of software development, or, equivalently, four years of demonstrated, practical experience in software development is required
Clearance Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required.
