Job Description
Your previous admin experience in an industrial environment makes you a perfect fit to join our team. In this role, you will perform administrative & clerical operations for the maintenance department. This will include purchasing, physical inventory management, scheduling and planning. This position is in an industrial setting. You will be required to be “on the floor” and around equipment on a daily basis. Specific responsibilities include:
- Develops, compiles, formats and enters data into the Preventative Maintenance (PM) computer program.
- Serves as a Buyer in the research of sources, pricing and purchasing of parts, supplies, and services.
- Maintains maintenance parts & supplies inventory records and initiates purchasing process when levels go below predetermined minimum levels.
- Plan work for the maintenance department including the development and continuous improvement of job plans.
- Update and maintain equipment records.
- Generate reports from AS/400 system for the Maintenance Manager.
- Must continually seek out new methods to lower costs in equipment repairs and maintenance downtime.
- Assist maintenance manager with project planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
As the selected candidate you will have a Minimum of a High School diploma and 1 to 3 years of experience in a purchasing, clerical or administrative position at a manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical parts & equipment gained from working in an industrial maintenance department or tool crib.
- Organization skills and ability to start and complete tasks on a deadline with little supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple rush items and function while under pressure of production line demands.
- Ability to interact with all employees, customers, vendors and other contacts in a positive, business-like manner.
Additional Information
This position reports to work in a manufacturing environment and will include:
- Periodic temperature extremes, including temperatures over 90 degrees
- Concrete or asphalt floors
- Possible exposure to high levels of noise
- Possible exposure to dust
- Possible periodic exposure to fumes from paints and chemicals used in coating processes
- Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs.
This is an hourly non-exempt position. Compensation based on experience.
