Assistant Catering Event Manager

The Premier is seeking a qualified individual for Assistant Catering/Events Manager. We are one of the leading caterers in the Toledo area for both onsite and offsite events. • Ability to work well under pressure and deal with the multitasking while assuring that all details receive appropriate attention
• Must be able to handle immediate changes in plans due to customer demands and needs, availability of products and other unforeseen problems

• Must be willing and able to work as needed – hours will include some evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work at off-location events. Ie Valid driver’s license; ability to be vehicle insured by company for banquet meal delivery/meal service as necessary.
• Should have knowledge of all food safety standards such as date marking, proper product rotation, and proper temperature and time holding.

Job Duties include:

· Assist with the management of ala carte operations as needed.

· Assist/perform sales and planning of banquet and/or offsite events

· Recruit, hire, schedule, train, and evaluates event staff.

· Conducts training activities for staff.

· Assures that all functions are properly staffed in accordance with the approved banquet staffing schedule.

· Ensures that all banquet staff members are well-groomed and in proper uniform.

· Holds pre-function meetings with servers to ensure smooth, efficient service; assigns server sections, set-up, and closing duties, and coordinates the timing of courses and sequence of service

· Involvement with the creation and design of events and entertainment.

· Works with culinary team to identify buffet design, chaffer needs, and signage expectations for accurate setup.

· Diagrams buffet tables, guest tables, and other function room set-up needs for special events.

· Acts as head waiter/waitress at special, private functions, and may greet and seat guests as necessary.

· Assures that all side-work is accomplished and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule.

· Executes after-event evaluations to improve the quality and efficiency of banquet functions.

· Assumes Closing Manager responsibilities when assigned.

· Assures the neatness, cleanliness, and safety of all banquet areas.

· Responsible for proper inventory of all banquet service equipment and supplies and ensures the cleanliness and organization of these supplies and the areas of which they’re stored.

· Coordinates set up and break down of event spaces with a pro-active mindset to assure that staff is fully utilized to the best of our abilities.

· Performs other tasks as requested by the Catering & Events Director.

· Regularly inspect all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to assure that sanitation, safety, and preventive maintenance are met.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
