The Software Specialist role supports several business applications including Salesforce, MITC, and Therap. The role is focused on supporting end users usage of these applications and developing / customizing the software environments. Applicants should have great interpersonal and analytical skills, with a technical background. Successful candidates will have proficiencies in platform brands and technologies or similar are preferred. This role is responsible for maintaining the relationship between contracted vendor support and business stakeholders.
With a strong customer service orientation, expert in analysis, design, implementation and support of new information systems and changes to existing information systems and a high degree of autonomy:
- Collaboratively, with end users, works to understand and capture business needs and to develop requirements and detailed specifications for moderately complex applications.
- Analyzes and documents application processes and functions.
- Defines design alternatives and recommendations, often in collaboration with business partners or vendors.
- Develops and executes tests to ensure software accuracy, completion and validity.
- Develops internal procedures and documentation.
- Works with end users to troubleshoot and solve complex problems and provide production support.
- Communicates with end users regarding the status and completion of requests, in an agreed-upon, timely manner and/or in accordance with an applicable Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Thoroughly and diligently follows change control processes, when applicable.
- Follows defined support model and expectations in communicating with end users.
- Proactively mentors teammates.
- Effectively facilitates large group meetings, discussions, or workgroups with peers, end users and/or vendors to drive for results and create momentum for problem solving.
- Create and implement training for end users on use of information systems / applications systems.
- May serve on committees or take on other leadership functions, representing the team in broader organizational initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience:
- 3 years of information technology experience in relevant industry or business area.
Skills:
- Highly knowledgeable about key concepts, current developments, and trends in information technology and information systems relevant to the position, including application configuration and layers, system integration, and database fundamentals.
- Excels at performing systematic, thorough analysis and problem solving, and consistently initiates end user problem resolution.
- Strong understanding of system integration key concepts and technical protocols.
- Excels at establishing, conceiving, and describing systems, designs, flow charts, schedules, and requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills that promote effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including peers, clinicians, and senior leaders.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
