Well established, multi-doctor ophthalmology office looking for a Full Time Medical Receptionist at our Barrington location. We are looking for a detail-oriented, dependable, pleasant, positive and proactive individual to take on administrative duties involved with coordinating patients and physician schedules.
Job details include, but are not limited to: answering phones and ensuring accurate routing, greeting and checking in patients, explaining intake forms, accurately updating patient medical records, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, scanning and faxing documents, as well as other duties as assigned by the office manager. Previous medical experience is necessary. Proficiency with computers is a must.
Position hours will be Monday through Friday, and 2 Saturday mornings a month.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patients to the clinic
- Maintain patient accounts by verifying insurance information and referral requirements
- Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer
- Outstanding professional phone management skills: manages a multi-line telephone system efficiently and politely, minimizing hold time
- Maintain organization in the reception area and all common areas
- Anticipate the needs of others in order to ensure their seamless and positive experience
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Qualifications
- Priority will be given to those with at least 2 years experience in a medical office setting
- High School Diploma required
- Must be able to multi-task effectively; critical time management skills necessary
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Punctual with strong attendance history
- Must have experience with EMR systems and proficient with computers
- Bilingual in Spanish, Polish or Russian a plus!
