The Nurse Researcher works under the direction of the nurse scientist. The Nurse Researcher demonstrates the ability to be creative in the development, formulation, and outcomes of nursing research that contributes to clinical practice. The Nurse Researcher supports evidence-based practice by improvement of patient outcomes, decreased costs, increased patient satisfaction, development of protocols and critical pathways and nursing care based on current technology and knowledge.
The Nurse Researcher collaborates with the nurse scientist to ensure the nursing research process is utilized efficiently and is directed at achieving optimal patient outcomes. Through education, individual and group consultation and by working with project teams, the Nurse Researcher provides the expertise to support nursing research and evidence-based practice.
Minimum Level of Education Required: Master's degree
Additional requirements:
- Type of degree: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
- Area of study or major: Nursing
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Valid Ohio RN license
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 5 - 7 years of job related experience
Other experience requirements: Has demonstrated ability to prepare and conduct a research study
Knowledge/Skills
- Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
- Advanced computer software knowledge
- Strong organization skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
