The Production Lead position plays a vital role in the success of our branches balancing various stages of projects supporting sales, operations, and homeowners. The Production Lead will be responsible for multiple production activities within the branch that will be assigned based on the needs of the business. Those activities include, creating an accurate scope of work for roofing projects, supervising multiple project sites on a daily basis, completing minor roofing and construction repair jobs, or supervising large multifamily roofing projects.
Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- (Primary Responsibility):Project Management: 25% of position responsibility
- Directly supervising three to four roofing projects per day
- Meeting with homeowners on the day of the build to provide excellent customer service and explain all expectations associated with the roofing project
- Maintaining ongoing communication with customer through the completion of the build
- Posting permits when needed and meeting with inspectors to ensure quality completion of projects
- Directly managing and overseeing roofing crews and providing them with detailed instructions pertaining to each project to ensure jobs are completed on time, per the scope of work, and to the highest standard
- Managing material inventory on each project to ensure all needed materials are correctly stocked by distributor and any missing items are acquired in a timely fashion
- Completing documentation pertaining to each individual project: change orders, project photos, material overages / shortages
- Completing final roof inspection
- Handling the oversight and completion of repair orders associated with new installs
- Communicating build completion and ongoing timelines to the branch General Manager
- Following OSHA safety standards and ensuring the crews are in compliance with required safety program guidelines (ladders, harness program, etc.)
- Performing and documenting safety program requirements (vehicle, project, near miss, tool talks)
Project Scoping: 25% of position responsibility
- Creating detailed scopes for each project
- Thoroughly documenting each scope
- Clearly communicating scope details
- Interacting with customers in a positive manner
Project Repairs: 25% of position responsibility
- Communicating with teammates about daily tasks, projects, and challenges
- Traveling to customer homes and troubleshooting various issues related to roofing repair
- Providing outstanding customer service
- Performing minor repairs to roofs, including working with or around siding, gutters, awnings, and windows
- Patching drywall and performing interior construction to our homeowners’ exacting standards
- Diligently documenting work performed
- Assisting with branch maintenance, repairs, and inventory pick-up and distribution
- Follows OSHA and company required safety guidelines
Multi-Family Project Management: 25% of position responsibility
- Conduct property inspections to identify and document storm damage
- Conduct pre-construction walk-throughs with property managers and Homeowners Association leaders
- Manage resident needs and concerns during construction.
- Manage project build daily onsite
- Posting permits when needed and meeting with inspectors to ensure quality completion of projects.
- The direct management and oversight of roofing crews, and providing them with detailed instructions pertaining to each project to ensure jobs are completed on time, per the scope of work, and to the highest standard
- Final roof inspection
- Manage customer resolutions
- Following OSHA safety standards and ensuring the crews are in compliance with required safety program guidelines (ladders, harness program, lifts, etc.)
- Performing and documenting safety program requirements (vehicle, project, near miss, tool talks
- Additional Task and Responsibilities
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities, and attend all company-wide meetings and scheduled event
- 2 PRT deployments/season, duration of travel minimally 1 week per deployment
Qualifications:
- EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Power industrial truck
- General construction experience
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Not afraid of heights (you would be climbing up/down ladders and on roofs)
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Valid driver's license
- Organized
- Excellent customer service skills
