At Premier Truck Rental PTR, we provide customers with monthly 4×4 Crew Cab Work Trucks, Amphibious XTVs and Fat Trucks, Utility Reel and Pole Trailers, Equipment Trailers, and Equipment Rentals needed to keep crews working. Headquartered in Northeast Indiana with service locations throughout the country. Our job is to give you the type of rental equipment you want, when you want it, and to make the process as seamless as possible.
The Purchasing Coordinator at PTR is a friendly, detail-oriented steward of the purchasing process. This role will support our purchasing team with the negotiation of materials, equipment, and product from supplier partners. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the procurement process, including but not limited to supplier selection, purchase order management, and delivery tracking. They will develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, implementing contracts where appropriate. This role reports directly to the Materials Manager.

This position has a competitive compensation package that is a combination of base salary plus profit sharing paid quarterly.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Purchases and negotiates materials, equipment, and supplies from supplier partners.
- Utilizes Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system to manage internal and external purchasing requests, and track delivery of goods and services.
- Plans and coordinates the physical movement of parts and information to optimize cost and service level.
- Evaluates supplier quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
- Develops and manages the supply base through supplier selection, corrective actions, audits, and feedback systems.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers on quality damage claims, rejections, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
- Reviews and follows up on late supplier shipments.
- Builds strong relationships, and provides effective communication, prioritization, and alignment across the business and contract manufacturing sites.
- Demonstrates capability in engaging external business partners to provide the seamless linkage of supply chain processes.
- Possesses excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Requirements
Must Have
- 1 years of related purchasing experience or a degree in supply chain management.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Accountability and ownership of the purchasing process and a strong commitment to results.
Nice To Have
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and Word.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
