What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Scheduler position at Premise INC?
SUMMARY: As a scheduler you will work closely with our projects team and customers to develop the overall schedule of project completion. You will be responsible for building and updating schedules at various milestones, as project deliverables are completed, and as scopes of work are added to a project, and to provide updates to key team members and customers on the progress of project completion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: *
- Works closely with preconstruction managers, project managers, construction managers, external contractors and other project service staff to provide detail planning and scheduling projects from planning through completion of construction milestones
- Develop resource and cost load sheets including list of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the project.
- Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available resources
- Assesses the impact of design changes and schedule slippages. Informs company management and customers of all schedule updates
- Apply knowledge of procurement, construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critical path logic networks
- Accumulates and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting
- Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems
- Interface with customers, attend or lead regular meetings to update project team nationwide, and give statistical reports
- Travel to project sites and other offices as needed to participate in project meetings, develop schedule of project completion, and update schedules to identify work completion at the project sites.
- Communicate with customers, and track project progress.

In addition to the above, other required qualifications for this role are:
- Highly desired is a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or related technical engineering degree field. Equivalent years of related experience, preferably working on industrial and manufacturing structures can be substituted for degree.
- 5 years of experience on large commercial or industrial projects.
- 2 years’ experience direct scheduling experienced in critical path management with a demonstrated history of successful schedule compression and mitigation efforts.
- Possesses experience with critical path management, float, successors & predecessors, and detailed schedule formatting.
- Experience managing and balancing multi-project site implementation.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate effectively, clearly and succinctly through spoken and written forms with peers, management, and customers. Able to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Experienced to proficient with Microsoft Project.
- Effective use of Premise provided software and tools including: Microsoft Office Suite, PDF Software, Project Management Software, and ability to learn other software, as needed.
- Travel of 25% as needed required, which may include occasional overnight stays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, walk, lift, talk, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
