Role Overview
ANZ (Australia & New Zealand) is one of Preqin’s newest and fastest-growing regional sales teams. The team has seen double-digit growth in annual recurring revenue (ARR) since opening in Sydney, with a stable client base consisting of established fund managers, institutional investors and service providers (law firms, consulting firms, banks etc.).
The existing team consist of highly motivated, energetic and achievement-oriented salespeople; this regional territory has consistently been one of the top drivers for APAC’s performance. The team’s primary goal is to grow Preqin’s business, relationships and brand equity in Australia and New Zealand.
The Business Development Manager will own a specific market segment within the ANZ territory; with their primary goal of hunting and selling to non-subscribing new firms in order to achieve monthly sales targets and quarterly milestone goals.

Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities within a defined sales territory
- Achieve or exceed monthly net sales targets
- Employ a consultative approach to selling Preqin’s services to new clients – deep understanding of clients’ business models and problems, and identifying the appropriate Preqin solutions
- Manage the sales process from beginning to end – this includes securing introductions with decision makers, providing prospects with product demonstrations, detailed proposals and consultations
- Face-face meetings at client sitadministration: CRM activity log, sales pipeline forecasting, monthly reports to management, renewal planning and proposal preparationes, events and conferences within territory
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to prioritize the interests of our customers and the firm
- Accurately report internal
Qualifications
You are a good fit if:
- At least 3-5 years of sales and / or account management experience in a similar discipline (preferred: financial data vendor, financial services, alternative investments, business to business SaaS sales, solution selling)
- Consultative and solution based sales (e.g. SPIN selling) and negotiation skills and experience in a B2B ecosystem
- Proven and consistent track record in hitting sales targets
- Excellent interpersonal skills in written and verbal communications
- Organized, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and respond quickly
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite and CRM systems. Experience with Salesforce is preferred
- Sales motivated, team-focused attitude, and willingness to collaborate with peers, product management, and internal key constituents at the firm
- Working knowledge of the financial market data space, alternative assets, and financial services industries
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or related field required

Our training is provided in the first few weeks of joining us and utilises powerful, up-to-date techniques along-side industry knowledge to create a truly bespoke training experience unique to Preqin. Individuals that complete our programmes are able to conduct more efficient prospecting, uncover more value within our prospects and clients, resist and overcome objections and achieve success in a shorter period. Once completed and an assessment passed, all Sales & CS reps will be fully certified in Preqin Sales Fundamentals and experience a reduced ramping period and earn more money, faster.
