Presbyterian Homes of Kentucky is currently hiring a full-time Director of Nursing for our Helmwood Healthcare location in Elizabethtown, KY.

Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered license as a RN in the state of Kentucky.
- Experience in long-term care/nursing homes.
- Experience in Nursing leadership desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the skilled nursing and personal care facilities.
- Develop, maintain and periodically recommend updates to written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day function of the nursing department.
- Develop methods of coordination of nursing services with other department managers to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regiment of care.
- Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as necessary or directed.
- Monitor the facility’s QI, QM, and survey reports. Assist in developing plans of action to correct potential or identified problem areas.
- Assist the contracted providers (i.e., Pharmacy, Therapy, Medical Supplies) to ensure quality of service to residents in concert with care planning, current policies and procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies.
- Manage the staffing needs of the nursing service department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents. Assist in the recruitment and selection of nursing service personnel.
- Oversee work assignments and schedule duty hours and team practices in each neighborhood promoting constructive interdisciplinary teamwork, and/or assist nursing supervisory staff in completing and performing such tasks.
- Provide direct nursing care as needed.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective orientation program that orients new nursing employees to the facility, its policies and procedures, and to his/her job position and duties.
- Ensure that all personnel involved in providing care to the resident are aware of the resident’s care plan. Ensure that nursing personnel refer to the resident’s care plan prior to administering daily care to the resident and that resident preferences are respected and honored.
- Work effectively with team members and department managers to efficiently and compassionately resolve concerns, complaints, and grievances of residents and family members.
- Work alongside other department managers to create warm and hospitable culture for residents and all employees and a positive environment for teamwork.
