Pediatrics Plus provides all of the necessary training to start your career as a Classroom Teaching Assistant, as well as opportunities to grow with us through professional development. Our training program will provide all the tools you need to be successful as you learn to engage and instruct children in our developmental preschool(s).
What you will do:
Our ideal candidate is someone who is excited to learn and is passionate about helping children in a fun, engaging, and collaborative manner.
- Assist the Classroom Teacher(s) by engaging children through:
- Curriculum implementation
- Playground activities
- Direct childcare needs (feeding, diapering, and changing clothing, etc.)
- Collaborate with the Classroom Teacher(s) to ensure learning environment(s) are established and maintained to motivate and enable children to achieve developmental milestones appropriate for their age.
- Ensure that a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environment is maintained and that children are kept clean, clothing is changed when necessary, and toys and other materials are disinfected each day.
- Collaborate with Classroom Teacher(s) to respond intentionally to challenging behavior by helping children de-escalate and prompting appropriate skills
- Assist the Classroom Teacher(s) in ensuring treatment plans developed by developmental evaluators are implemented
- Ensure each child's growth and development by utilizing intervention strategies established by healthcare professionals
- Toilet training and diaper changing will be required

- Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance as needed
- Ability to move freely, quickly, and frequently from a sitting (on the floor or in a chair) to standing position and to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely
- Working knowledge of computer technology: Windows operating systems, iOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email
Minimum Requirements:
- Availability Monday - Friday 7:30 am 4:30 pm
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- 1 year of experience working with children in a professional setting (preferred)
