As an Assistant Director, you will have the opportunity to lead your team to achieve the goals and objectives of the school. Under the direction of the Executive Director you will work to ensure the success of your assigned campuses program. Job Summary
The Assistant Director works with the Center Director to ensure proper operation of the center. Ensures that the center is operated in accordance with company policies and state licensing standards. Follows operating procedures to provide the best educational, caring, and safe environment for children and families in the industry. Maintains highest standards by being visible and involved daily in the operations and education of the center’s classrooms. Promotes the positive image of the company in the community. Achieves profitability for the company through daily tasks related to new enrollment as well as retaining existing families.
Job Responsibilities and Standards of Performance
Fiscal Responsibilities
· Ensures accuracy and timely collection of tuition in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Maintains an accurate financial accounting of the center’s operation and protects the company’s monetary assets.
· Prepares and forwards accurate payroll, accounting, and operations reports by pre-determined deadlines.
· Hires and maintains high quality and performing staff.
· Hires and maintains a teaching staff of over 20.
Enrollment
·Fills the center to capacity while maximizing the profitability of the operation.
·Daily attendance should meet licensed capacity.
·Is available to parents at their convenience—listens attentively to their concerns and takes appropriate action.
·Ensures retention of students by ensuring quality programs.
·Tracks all inquiries, converts inquiries into parent tours, and converts tours into enrollments. Accurately reports withdrawals and new starts weekly.
·Relationships with Families- Maintains effective communications with families.
·Conducts parent meetings and other conferences as appropriate.
·Regularly solicits feedback from parents in order to improve the center.
Health & Safety Requirements
·Maintains good working relationships with the licensing board representative and the city health representative.
·Maintains building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe environment that meets corporate standards and all regulatory agency requirements.
·Requires staff to enforce all safety policies and procedures in compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
·Implements all standards necessary to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment, including universal precautions.
Experience/Qualifications
·The Assistants Director’s qualifications must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience.
·Previous experience in a licensed child care center.
·Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
