Position Summary
The Music Teacher (MT) is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring effective music instruction for each assigned student. The MT is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of individualized behavioral health treatment plan developed by each student’s classroom team.
Essential Responsibilities
- design daily lesson plans for each group specifying educational activities to occur in designated time blocks;
- instruct students in music through individual or group interactions;
- integrate experiential education into student’s daily programming;
- demonstrates a proficient level of cultural sensitivity; and
- actively implement components of all Re-ED values
- design and implement a classroom management system and policies,
- implement group process procedures in the classroom including, but not limited to implementation of planning, evaluation, and problem-solving meetings, and group activities - - social and academics;
- develop, implement, and monitor individual and group interactions and contracts in accordance with student Mental Health Treatment Plan goals and positive behavior support plan;
- maintaining frequent informal communication with team members regarding student programming and progress.
Qualifications
- Clearances. State Police; FBI clearance; child abuse clearance; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training; any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.
- Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
Work Conditions
- Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing. Moderate to high level of physical activity.
- Environmental Factors. Indoor/Outdoor: School Building.
- Working Hours. As assigned.
