POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Teaching Associate (CTA) works under the direction of the Nursing Assistant (NA) Program
Director or NA Instructor to provide oversight and direction to students during the clinical portion of
their NA Program. Partners with NA Instructor to assure all instruction is delivered in accordance
with state regulations and maintains all compliance-related documentation
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Under the direction of the NA Instructor/NA Program Director, provides direct supervision and
observation of NA students’ clinical rotation.
2. Observes and evaluates clinical skills of each student and checks off completion of skills. Submits
completed skills list to NA Instructor/NA Program Director.
3. Assists students in practicing clinical skills through demonstration, coaching, and retraining.
4. Maintains accurate and appropriate student, clinical, and course documentation. Submits
reimbursement documentation as required.
5. Ensures all federal and state regulations are met during the clinical portion of the NA program.
6. Acts as part of the NA Program team by attending quarterly meetings, participating in program
initiatives, and assisting the program director in development of curricula, teaching modalities, and
program evaluation.
7. Promotes a positive, enthusiastic, and professional image of Prestige through all interactions with students,
team members, current and prospective residents, and family members.
8. Maintains professional knowledge of clinical practices and industry trends.
9. Assists with the recruitment of students as necessary.
10. Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a current, unencumbered nursing license (LPN or RN) for the state(s) in which the class is
being taught. Minimum of one year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or similar healthcare
environment required. Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and student
management situations. Must be a team player, well organized, flexible and have excellent
motivational skills. Experience as a mentor/trainer preferred.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or a Diploma in Nursing.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has indirect supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing, with personnel at all levels
of the organization, residents and their families, and members of the community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Ability to maintain, understand, and review all reports and records.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to accurately observe, report, and problem-solve residents’ needs with assistance of a
supervisor. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily works in a skilled nursing center observing and instructing students in resident’s rooms and
throughout the building. Travel between centers required based assigned NA Program clinical site.
