The Home Health Care Administrator is responsible for development and overall management and oversight of the Home Health Care program. The Administrator shall organize and direct the agency’s ongoing functions; maintain ongoing liaison among the governing body, Advisory Board and the staff. The Administrator will employ qualified personnel and ensure adequate staff education and evaluations; ensure the accuracy of public information materials and activities; and implement an effective budgeting and accounting system. The Home Care Administrator is responsible for quality assurance measure to improve care and preparation for licensing.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall management of the Home Health Care Agency program.
- Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, managing performance and discipline of all administrative and direct care employees and contract staff.
- Ensures compliance with all Pennsylvania state and federal laws and maintain proper licensure for the Pennsylvania Home Health Agency.
- Available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for emergency phone calls to address caregiver or client concerns, to appropriately manage staffing, and to respond to calls from care coordinators or other professionals, if necessary.
- Responsible to partner with the Human Resources and Compliance Department to employ qualified personnel and ensure adequate evaluations, employee education and ongoing quality assurance measures.
- Completes incident reports and ensure proper safety processes are being followed.
- Maintains privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions, and other information relating to clients, employees and facility.
- Has ability to travel as needed. Must use own vehicle for travel. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Job Skills:
- The Home Health Care Administrator must have training and experience in health service administration and at least 1 year of supervisory or administration experience in home health care or related health programs.
- Health Administration degree or related field a plus.
- Have knowledge of Home Health Care regulations and third-party reimbursement as it impacts the delivery of services.
- Proven data analysis skills, organizational skills, and resourcefulness in problem solving
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Confidentiality is of the upmost importance and must be able to maintain client privacy per HIPAA laws.
