What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Operations Technician position at Pri Global Inc?
Major Accountabilities:
Diagnose hardware and software problems while minimizing customer impact.
Analyze information and determine the appropriate outcome for a problem.
Create and/or update internal tickets to document monitoring and recovery steps.
Perform routine maintenance as required by policy or procedure.
Implement changes within the network infrastructure.
Maintain metrics as defined by management.
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge / Experience:
Demonstrates the ability to function in 5 of the 5 expertise areas in the OCC (UNIX, Mainframe, Production Control, Debit, Network) and be proficient in 3 or more areas, also demonstrates leadership attributes. Is a subject matter expert in one or more of the expertise areas of the OCC and has a holistic understanding of how all the pieces of the OCC fit together, and demonstrates excellent communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of routing/switching, tunneling, security operations/engineering, MPLS.
Basic UNIX scripting and tool monitoring, JCL, MVS, batch scheduling, knowledge of tandem technology.
Firewall experience and file transfer highly desired.
1 to 3 years experience required.

Some on-call responsibility and occasional off hours work required.
12 hour shifts work, plus one weekend day a work week.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
