Job Summary: The IT Tech Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring all technical aspects within the organization are functioning optimally. The IT Tech Support Specialist is responsible for maximizing company system capabilities and administering support when needed.
Job Responsibilities: including but not limited to
- Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills ability to narrow down the cause of an issue and determine the best solution
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the company. Talking staff through a series of actions, either face to face, remotely or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
- Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Workstation setup and replacing parts as required.
- Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
- Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
- Supporting the roll-out of new applications.
- Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
- Responding within agreed time limits to IT tickets.
- Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
- Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time.
- Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., software developers.
- Testing and evaluating new technology.
- Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
Requirements
- 2-year degree required.
- At least 4 year of IT experience required.
- IT training is preferred. A Certification preferred.
- A good knowledge of Microsoft Windows is required. This includes some knowledge of Windows networking, and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Mac OS a plus.
- Good communication, problem solving and organizational skills are required to interact with employees, multitask efficiently and resolve daily problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to work with multicultural and diverse population is required. Flexible schedule is necessary.
