Job Title: Safety Inspector

Location: Bloomington, IN

Description: Commerical construction firm seeking an MSHA Safety Inspector to support the project management division through the project.

Job Type: Full Time (Contract)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the completion and maintenance of the accident prevention plan.
  • Advise the Project Management on key areas of safety related to tasks.
  • Conduct project safety training and orientation, as needed.
  • Maintain project safety metrics.
  • Conduct project safety audits using electronic software.
  • Participate in MSHA inspections.
  • Lead all incident investigations, developing corrective actions
  • Attend Owner meetings and work with their safety representatives, as necessary
  • Attend continual development safety programs, as needed

Qualifications:

  • MSHA (Part 46) 8-hour annual refresher.
  • Prior experience managing safety on surface mine projects.

Experience: 5 years

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Bloomington, IN 47401: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
  • MSHA (Part 46) 8 Hour Refresher (Required)
