The Role
The Finance Manager - Trade Promotion reports to Senior Finance Manager, Sales Finance. Responsible for financial support of the trade promotion validation, auditing and forecast accrual management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Sales Teams to track and report on customer/sku level promotional budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain company trade promotion management tools (TPM) regarding trade promotion spend versus expectations via billback validation and spend tracking versus forecast.
- Drive continuous improvements of company SOPs surrounding trade spend and tracking including execution metrics of the team in processing validation in a timely manner.
- Audit defined areas of risk in trade promotion for potential fraud trends.
- Collaborate with business partners to identify organizational risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Deliver reporting metrics surround promotional rates per SKU vs forecasted expectation and policy guidelines.
- Assist with the hiring and training of two direct reports.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred
- 4 years of finance/accounting experience (CPG Trade Strategy experience preferred)
- Understanding of Trade Promotion Management (TPM) and Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO) tools and their role in a CPG organization
- Experience with forecasting is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
- Strong Excel product knowledge with preferred experience in data visualization tools Power BI, Tableau etc
- Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills, with a demonstrated history of cross functional collaboration
- Oracle NetSuite experience preferred
