SummaryPerforms blood specimen collection, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens, as requested. Assists pathologists and histotechs as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested.
Responsibilities- Completes prioritization, receipt, registration and distribution of specimens.
- Has responsibility for sendout/reference lab shipping, tracking and billing.
- Will perform waived testing, as requested.
- Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested.

EducationRequired: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associatesdegree in laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution
Required: 3 years of laboratory experience
Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience
Required: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires
Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
