Join Principal’s Actuarial Development Program, a long-standing development program with a history of moving actuaries into leadership positions. We give participants broad exposure to several areas of the company by providing rotations in different actuarial roles and departments within the company!
Throughout the duration of the program, you’ll develop strong actuarial, business and leadership skills through three cross-functional rotations, ranging in length from 18-30 months. Each rotation is crafted to help you learn about a different business area, while providing you broad exposure and significant work. Upon completion of the FSA designation, participants are encouraged to continue their career development and business leadership which may include continued movement within the organization.

Responsibilities include:

Use technical skills to do actuarial research and calculations and provide actuarial services and support to other departments

Recommend innovative changes to help better serve Principal’s customers through improvements in execution, product enhancements, and/or the use of new technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field or equivalent experience

Previous actuarial internship or work experience is highly preferred

Successful completion of at least one exam in the education system of the Society of Actuaries is required. Strong preference will be given to those with completion of multiple courses

Ability to continue to pass exams and achieve your FSA designation at an accelerated pace.

Knowledge of actuarial mathematics such as probability and statistics, numerical analysis, compound interest, and life contingencies is required

Experience with spreadsheets, database and actuarial modeling software is highly preferred
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $65600 - $95000 / year Additional Information:
