Technical Writer

Principal Service Solutions is hiring a technical writer that will perform technical publications production duties: composition, illustration, technical writing, and editing.

Job Description:

• Develop clear written materials to support product development activities.
• Work cross-functionally with SMEs to collect product information and specifications.
• Create, develop, update and publish highly accurate and complete product and service documents (e.g., Mainframe Manuals, Chamber Manuals, Procedures and BKMs).
• Collect and organize technical information and product images, and coordinates layout for publication.
• Develop and author technical documentation adhering to publication processes and style guide.
• Ensure documents meet quality requirements, schedule and cost goals.
• Program manage document plan: ensure completion of program requirements, schedule and resource estimation, deliverables, milestones, validation and testing, reliability, and risk mitigation.
• Write structure and publish technical contents using DITA XML.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1 - 5 years’ previous experience in in a technical writing role with responsibility for end-to-end development of documentation for a technical audience.
• Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) to conduct document reviews and approval using electronic workflows.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, maintain and regularly update multiple project schedules.

Educational Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree
