Your daily tasks will include:
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that our DTG apparel printing and embroidery production processes run reliably and efficiently in order to meet the needs of our customers.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage operations - people, workflow and output - to meet production KPI’s on speed, quality, unit cost and morale.
- Lead a team of up to 600 printing production employees, support teams and leads.
- Develop front line supervisors and leads to manage smaller teams.
- Responsible for ensuring the facility provides a proper and safe work environment for the employees and equipment.
- Understand, set and communicate production goals, reading monitors daily and adjusting resources as needed, then providing analytics on production.
- Draft work schedules, assignments, activities and overtime to meet daily and weekly production goals.
- Manage a consistent flow of production by ensuring that late, stuck, damaged and priority items are processed and expedited.
- Look for inefficiencies in the production flow and implement improvements.
- Ensure efficient training to mitigate the impact of staff & equipment challenges.
- Work with the maintenance team to ensure proper equipment maintenance and timely repairs.
- Maintain production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and visual aids for department processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience leading large-scale operations for a direct-to-garment printing facility or a fulfillment center.
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred in business administration or engineering/manufacturing.
- Experience managing the production process in a fast-growing company.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma quality systems is an asset.
