What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lube Tech position at PRN Ambulance?
Job Summary:
The Lube Technician will be responsible for servicing the Company vehicles. This position is based out of North Hills and will require traveling to different PRN stations to service scheduled units 90% of the time. The main priority of the Lube Technician is to service the following areas: North Hills, Carson, and Huntington Park. The Lube Technician will use various electronic tools to locate and correct malfunctioning areas in the vehicle, maintaining cleanliness in the work area and service truck, and restock all necessary parts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle maintenance as assigned in accordance with Company standards
- Perform preventive maintenance on all company vehicles to include such things as:
- Changing engine oil, filters, and checking fluid levels
- Checking tire pressures and rotating tires
- Changing belts
- Greasing bearings
- Overhauling brake systems
- Differential oil changes
- Repairing minor issues (e.g. replacing headlights, taillight bulbs, etc.)
- Records services and provides recommendations and documentation to Manager to input into maintenance software
- Ability to work with electronic tools to locate and correct malfunctioning areas in the vehicle
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area and ensure service truck is restocked with all necessary parts
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to communicate in and understand English, verbally and written
- Current and valid California state driver’s license
- Familiarity with gas and diesel engines
- Experience as an express/quick lube technician
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to drive throughout the day, up to 8 hours
- Must be able to stand on concrete and/or metal surfaces, up to 8 hours
- Must be able to lift and move inventory items, trash cans, and other work-related items, up to 50 pounds, up to 20 times/day
- Must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands for either extended periods of time or many times throughout each shift
- Must have adequate finger dexterity to grip and hold both large and small items
- Must be able to tolerate work in a warehouse environment with various temperatures and circumstances (heat, cold, wind, etc.)
- Adequate vision required to be able to assess vehicle’s parts and read information from printed sources and computer screens
- Must be able to stand, sit and lay under and around vehicles, up to 8 hours
- Must be able to hear and communicate clearly in person and over the phone
