Role: Netezza Admin

Location: Louisville- KY

Environment: Netezza 7.2.1.P10 (Twinfin-12 and Striper), Aginity, NZSQL, Linux

Experience Required:

• Knowledge of NPS twinfin, Striper servers & MAKO.
• Data management tasks including User/Group/Permissions maintenance; Workload Management; Database/Schema/Table design and maintenance; monitoring and performance; installs and upgrades of all related appliance software; collaboration with IBM Netezza support.
• Responsible for the design, development, installation, and performance of Netezza appliances.
• Better understanding of nzbackup and nzrestore to backup and restored the big databases from one server to another server during the migration.
• Hands on nzsession, nzsystem, nz skew, nzstats and nz health utilities to monitoring the skew and distribution of all tables, NPS server issue for better performance.
• Have established security LDAP authentication, users and groups.
• Have used nz migrate, nzload to load and unload the data from text files and other databases.
• Have done manual vacuum using nz manual vacuum
• Have created databases and designed the database objects with appropriate parameters
• Have upgraded NPS
• Have coordinated with NZ support to resolve many other issues, disk replacements and hardware components replacement.
• Have written shell scripts to automate ETL jobs, nz process related jobs, groom, genstats etc
• Have monitored the performance issues, database usage, hardware components SPUs, SPA, Disks and raise PMRs with IBM NZ support to resolve the issues and upgrades.
• Very strong Analytical and problem-solving skills, has depth in technical knowledge and effectively applies business solutions;
• Extensive experience in Netezza 4.5.2/7.x, NZ utilities, NZLOAD, nzbackup, nzstats, Oracle, PL/SQL, Oracle utilities like SQL Loader, Shell Scripting, awk scripting & Unix Utilities
