Job Summary


The Field Safety Technician provides support and guidance for a specific area to ensure that the company's objectives are achieved in safety, training, and environmental concerns. This includes providing assistance and instruction to all levels of field crews and management in their efforts to reduce the frequency and severity of personal injuries, motor vehicle accidents, property damage losses, and environmental releases. This position helps implement and monitor programs to comply with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations. The Field Safety Technician supports operations in all safety and environmental training requirements.


Qualifications and Requirements:


Eligibility Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Refinery or facility safety experience.

Job Duration


  • 4-7 month opportunity working a 6/10 schedule. Weekends and nights may be required.
  • Additional opportunities may be available at the conclusion of the project.

  • Champions and promotes safe work habits.
  • Conduct internal company audits regarding compliance, local, State, and Federal.
  • Field inspections of crews to verify compliance.
  • Knowledge of general safety, training, and environmental concepts, standards, and practices.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from various locations to conduct investigations and provide any other necessary training and guidance.
  • Possess a basic understanding of all applicable government laws, regulations, and reporting procedures, including OSHA, PSM, DOT, and EPA.
  • Knowledge of basic learning concepts, including training, goal setting, motivation, communication, and organization.
  • Ability to comprehend the techniques of accident investigation and loss control.
  • Have basic knowledge of the refinery processes and industry-related safety equipment, materials, and technology.
  • Establish and maintain a line of communication with operations management, customers, vendors, educational institutes, and professional organizations.
  • Conduct training sessions on a scheduled basis to ensure a proper and adequately trained workforce.
  • Perform and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the immediate supervisor.
  • Report to the HSE Director and must have a good working relationship with all management and supervisory positions in their designated area.
  • Frequent contact and coordination with local staff groups, field locations, and customers.
  • Maintain a direct line of responsibility to the District Operations Manager and Regional HSE department.
