Position Summary
Assists Plant with planning, directing and implementation of a “world class” safety culture to ensure compliance with all state, federal and local governmental EHS regulations by performing the following duties in support of the Neenah and other Fox Valley Facilities.
This position would work core hours during the day Monday - Friday with occasionally off hour support.

- Knows and follows all safety policies and procedures. Ensures co-workers are also following safety rules across all of Neenah facility.
- Commitment, awareness and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) and food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.
- Directs, develops and delivers safety, health and environmental training programs to ensure employees’ knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations pertaining to all ProAmpac facilities.
- Participates in planning and implementation of programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, including but not limited to fire prevention, correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials, blood borne pathogens, hazardous communication, lockout/tagout and emergency action plans.
- Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
- Conducts monthly environmental recordkeeping and inspections as needed to assure compliance with applicable permits, regulations, and requirements. (Training Provided)
- Assists with management of EHS programs, including cost control/reduction and accident prevention/ reduction, safety behavior audit and risk assessment programs.
- Assists EHS Manager for workers compensation cases to ensure reasonable return to work and cost containment. (Training Provided)
- Coordinates safety and ERT committees and required meetings/trainings.
- Conducts safety orientation of new hires, contractors and visitors which includes PIV certification if necessary.
- Analyzes safety history to identify unsafe trends/behaviors and uses information as directed to assist in the develop safety strategies.
- Assists in Filing annual local, state and federal environmental reports potentially including air, waste, water, Tier II, and Form R. (Training Provided)
- Co-manages hazardous waste disposal program.
- Demonstrates professionalism and an appropriate attitude in all dealings with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
- Places a high priority on confidentiality to protect worker information.
- Effectively communicates with employees from your own and other departments to ensure a team environment.
- Participates in inspections and audits to ensure compliance to the ProAmpac EHS standards
- Must be able to travel to the Appleton and Neenah site as needed
- Assists in preparation and follow-up from visits with internal and external regulatory authorities.
- Helps analyze manufacturing processes, evaluating production machinery and or chemical exposures to determine safety hazards and alternative solutions.
- Responsible for all record keeping including but not limited to: Near Miss Reporting, Safety Data Sheets, Behavior Audits, Risk Assessments, Powered Industrial Truck Inspection, Safety Training and other administrative duties as required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- All other duties as assigned.
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Record of safe behaviors and active participation in safety committees or events preferred.
