What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator, Bag Machine position at PROAMPAC?
DUTIES:
- Practice safety at all times, in and around the machine. Never place hands in moving machinery.
- Keep working area clean and everything in its place; Keep worktable clean.
- Read and understand the manufacturing order. Measure all dimensions and record sizes on the Quality Assurance Report.
- Keep all paste pots properly filled while machine is running.
- Monitor and fill hot melt tank as needed.
- Clean up all spilled glue on the machine and floor immediately.
- Grease and oil bag machine daily. Keep grease gun and oil can always filled.
- Prepare the next roll of paper for readiness.
- Make roll changes as quickly as possible; do not stop and talk.
- Clean paste pad, spots, and score grooves after each print roll change.
- Change and adjust slitter blades during print roll change.
- Clean draw roll when needed.
- Clean delivery roller at the beginning of each shift.
- Know how to remove, clean, and install each of the glue pans as needed.
- Check bags constantly to ensure the seam, spots and bottom paste are being applied correctly. Do not run bags with glue slinging or dripping.
- Measure and record bag dimensions and gluing on an hourly basis on the QC reports.
- Run only quality bags; do not run waste. If the machine is producing bad bags, shut the machine down and report it immediately to your supervisor.
- Always stay in your work area (except with management permission).
- Must be willing to fill in at some of the job positions as required.
- Demonstrated ability to train others how to correctly read production orders.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions on small quality issues.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Work on Lean projects.
- Follow all Plant and Safety Rules.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend, twist and kneel.
- Ability to occasionally lift to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand continuously for 2 – 3 hours.
- Ability to perceive colors.
- Must have manual dexterity.
