We’re looking for a full-time, staff Process Engineer to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Greenville, SC, Charlotte, Chantilly VA, or Philadelphia, PA.

As the Process Engineer, here’s the work you’ll do:
  • Engineer provides technical expertise in Process Engineering role. This role will include the development of early conceptual documents such as Code Review, System Evaluation, Heat & Material Balances, Process Flow Diagrams, Calculations, Piping & Instrument Diagram's, Scopes of Work, Equipment Specifications & Data Sheets, and the Detailed Design Phase.
  • Under administrative direction, perform engineering design for multiple projects and multiple clients with minimal supervision.
  • Develop conceptual designs and evaluate alternative designs for suitability on the project.
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines, departments, construction, site-based personnel, vendors, subcontractors and the client.
  • Establishes basic design criteria and specifications.  Reviews project design regularly to ensure compliance with design criteria.
  • Review technical content and quality of discipline engineering for assigned projects.
  • Reviews all engineering drawings, calculations and specifications for compliance with established procedures, design standards and project requirements.
This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Hydraulic Modeling and Pumping (working knowledge or aptitude to learn AFT Fathom); Compressible Gas System Modeling (working knowledge or aptitude to learn AFT Arrow)
  • Development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) & Heat & Material Balance (HMB)
  • Heat Transfer/Heat Exchanger Design; Process Equipment Design & Specification
  • Development of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs); Experience in the development of the design basis for Capital Cost Estimates
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications, and the ability to quickly learn and use other software packages; Effective verbal and written communication skills
:And if you have these qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering required;  Master Degree preferred.
  • 4-8 Years in EPCm industry or with an operating company directly related to chemical process industry including but not limited to Chemical, Petrochemical, Chemical Intermediates, or Fibers Industries, etc.
  • 3-5 years work experience in secondary industries such as Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, or Advanced Manufacturing is desirable.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Successful completion of background screening process.
  • PE Strongly preferred or ability to obtain PE?????
